During 2002 drought, state agencies and universities implemented many water conservation practices. Listed below are some of the areas where state agencies improved water conservation measures through reductions or information sharing.

N.C. Division of Water Quality Stormwater Best Management Practices Manual

UNC Chapel Hill The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill has employed a number of storm water best management practices in new and retrofit construction on campus over the past few years. These include porous pavement, vegetated roofs, infiltration beds and cisterns.
